Hello friends!
It is hard to believe that summer is winding down and even harder to believe that it has been six months since we launched As Family We Go! We have all been taking some downtime this summer to rest, spend time with our families, and prayerfully prepare for expansion in the adventures of chasing after the dreams that God has placed in our hearts—but we wanted to break the radio silence to celebrate what God has done in the As Family We Go network in these first six months and to share our excitement for what is on the horizon in the coming year.
When we launched AFWG on tour last spring, we were absolutely astonished by the response you all shared to the formation of this movement. We saw a new church form once a week—churches like the Wilderness Fellowship outside of Chicago who have thrown caution to the wind in order to reimagine what an expression of God’s Kingdom might look like in their own neighborhood. In the first few months of AFWG, we wildly celebrated a number of folks who wandered into a Rend Collective concert not knowing what to expect, had an encounter with God, and gave their lives to Jesus! As we heard your stories night after night and desire for connection to other dreamers and access to resources, we felt God’s confirmation that we were not crazy in forming this thing called As Family We Go. It has been so exciting to have your stories stream in each week even in the midst of the proverbial pause of summer.
This coming year we will be offering content and resources from imaginative practitioners in diverse ministry contexts. We will be diligently working to continually make local and global connections to see more fruitful ministry and are dreaming of a gathering to encourage and equip leaders like you within As Family We Go. Most of all, we want to thank each of you joining our family and your diligent work to build God’s Kingdom!
